Emmanuel Williams grey up in South East England, then taught in London for some years. He continued his teaching profession while living in France, Indonesia and the United States.
He has written children's programs for the BBC, produced programs for children's radio in California, and has directed numerous multimedia performances which blended poetry with dance, music, slides and video. He produced a TV program featureing his nature poems with film and music for PBS, and wrote scripts for drama production in literary festivals in England. As a poet he's worked in schools both in England and in the United States, and had the opportunity to try his riddles on live audiences.
Currently he is living in Pacifica, Northern California, and is collaborating on a CD of poetry and music, and on a drama performance featuring a free verse narrative about the Ohlone Indians and Franciscan Missionaries.
